The project Narrarsi: laboratorio di empowerment per ampliare la consapevolezza della propria identità (Tell your own story: empowerment workshop for a greater awareness of one’s own identity) is an educational project created in the context of the General Pact of Collaboration for the promotion and protection of the LGBTQIA+ community in Bologna 2022-26 for kids, educators, and workers in all CAV Centri Anni Verdi (Green Years Centers) in the Municipality of Bologna.

 

It consists of educational courses in the form of workshops, following an informal education method, that encourage a culture of respect towards oneself and others, and one’s own and others’ potential, through a new empowerment-based narration of who we are.

 

The goal of the project is to promote the narration of one’s self-identity while recognizing, enhancing, and respecting diversity in oneself and others.

 

By highlighting the value of storytelling as a tool of self-growth and education, we work towards greater self-awareness and the recognition of new, inner potential.

 

It is an approach that finds value in empathy, respecting identities and other people’s stories, necessary in order to overcome the popular models and representations that contribute to fostering stereotypes, discrimination, aggression, and bullying.
